I’m inspired by my everyday surroundings as I walk through the neighborhoods of my home town. I never get tired of the scenery that surrounds me. I’m inspired by aspects of the urban landscape that most people pass by without consideration….I see the ordinary in an extraordinary way. The way sunlight creates shadow patterns in an ally. The lakefront views with a heavy atmosphere. The warmth of a summer day. It all plays a part in the feel of the scene that I’m inspired to capture. I want to immerse myself in those feelings and those views and I try to capture that warmth in my paintings….and that’s why I create.
